What wasn’t supposed to be a big concern for the Mets turned out to be just that.
Noah Syndergaard won’t throw for six weeks after being diagnosed with right elbow inflammation, manager Luis Rojas said Thursday morning. The 28-year-old has been working his way back from Tommy John surgery.
Syndergaard was removed from his second rehab start Tuesday after just one inning. Rojas said that night it was a “preventive” measure.
The Mets were initially hoping Syndergaard could return in mid-June.
