Zach Wilson’s mom calls Jets QB a ‘savage’ in New York sendoff photo

Zach Wilson's family officially said goodbye to the new Jets quarterback, who jetted off to New York this week.

Jets quarterback Zach Wilson left for New York on, well, a jet plane this week, with his social media-savvy mother documenting the Utah farewell on Instagram.

“New York don’t let this Utah boy fool you. He’s a savage,” Lisa Wilson recently posted to her “Lifeaccording2Lisa” page as she posed with husband Mike and their son, who was the second overall pick in last week’s NFL Draft.

Other intimate snaps from Wilson’s farewell tour featured the former Bringham Young University quarterback saying goodbye to his longtime girlfriend, Abbey Gile.

Gile, who has been linked to Wilson since high school, previously gushed about the 6-foot-3 athlete after he was selected by the Jets.

“Still can’t wrap my head around this moment. Feeling so blessed to have been a part of his journey since high school,” Gile posted Friday to Instagram.

“Zach has worked so hard to be here and he made his dream reality. Nobody loves the game like this boy and he’s going to give everything he can to New York. I guess all the date nights watching film were for something😉 I love this boy,” she continued.

While Gile is already rocking green Jets gear, it’s unclear if she’ll be moving to the east coast with Wilson.

In addition to Gile, Wilson’s family garnered loads of attention during the first night of the draft.

A sweet moment between Wilson and Lisa went viral after the mother of six was overcome with emotion when her son became the No. 2 pick. Other draft headlines focused on Lisa’s appearance, which Wilson said isn’t his “favorite” part about his newfound fame.

“We like to keep her out of the spotlight. But she’s an awesome lady and I love having her support,” Wilson told WFAN host Craig Carton, whose inquiry about Lisa didn’t go over well with listeners.

As Wilson prepares to begin his NFL career with the Jets, he has high hopes for his new team.

“I’m going to give it everything I have,” Wilson said on NFL Network after he was drafted. “There’s not another team I’d want to play for besides the Jets. We’re going to be a special team. We’re going for the Super Bowl.”
