Tony Buzbee, the high-profile Texas lawyer who has filed seven lawsuits on behalf of Jane Does alleging sexual assault against NFL star Deshaun Watson, said Friday that he’s now representing a total of 12 women and has spoken to 10 others about claims against the Texans quarterback.

Buzbee also said Watson’s alleged conduct happened “as recently as this month” and he has been contacted by the Houston Police Department. Buzbee has not had any contact with the Texans.

Watson, 25, publicly denied the first allegation and has hired his own high-profile attorney in Rusty Hardin — who got Roger Clemens acquitted in 2012 after the pitcher was accused of lying to Congress when he denied using performance-enhancing drugs. Watson’s agent David Mulugheta responded to the allegations Friday.

“Sexual assault is real. Victims should be heard, offenders prosecuted,” Mulugheta wrote on Twitter. “Individuals fabricate stories in pursuit of financial gain often. Their victims should be heard, and those offenders also prosecuted. I simply hope we keep this same energy with the truth.”
