Sneaker savant Joe La Puma said that he knew Kamala Harris was the real deal when she strode off a campaign airplane in a suit and Converse’s iconic Chuck Taylors.
“That moment — her wearing Converse — showed me the confidence that was built,” the host of Complex’s “Sneaker Shopping” told us. “The confidence from starting your day from the ground up and just being more comfortable in sneakers, and her getting off the plane in Converse and just being who she is — that’s what it’s about.”
