The "RHOBH" star tied the knot with her lawyer husband in 1999.
It’s over for Erika and Tom Girardi.
The star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” 49, filed for divorce from her 81-year-old lawyer husband on Tuesday, per a Los Angeles County court docket obtained by Page Six. The couple had been married for 21 years.
“After much consideration, I have decided to end my marriage to Tom Girardi,” the reality personality — also known by her stage name, Erika Jayne — told E!. “This is not a step taken lightly or easily. I have great love and respect for Tom and for our years and the lives we built together.”
“It is my absolute wish to proceed through this process with respect and with the privacy that both Tom and I deserved,” she concluded. “I request others give us that privacy as well.”
It is unclear if her divorce will play out on the upcoming season of “RHOBH,” as she is currently filming.
Erika revealed in 2017 that the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement ahead of the 1999 wedding, saying: “But let me tell you something, let me be very clear. I’m married to a very powerful lawyer. A prenup wouldn’t stand in his way anyway. So it doesn’t matter whether you had one or you didn’t, it’s gonna be all Tom’s way, I assure you. He’ll rip that piece of paper to shreds in two seconds!”
A rep for Girardi declined to comment to Page Six at this time.
