Gleyber Torres’ left quad is acting up again and it kept him out of the Yankee lineup Tuesday.

It’s the same quad that Torres injured last month and kept him on the injured list for more than two weeks, but Aaron Boone said he expects Torres to be back soon this time and that the shortstop was available off the bench Tuesday against the Blue Jays in The Bronx.

Torres didn’t start in Sunday’s game against the Orioles, but had a pinch-hit double that provided the go-ahead runs in the victory.

Boone added Torres felt good enough to be in Tuesday’s lineup, but the manager opted to rest Torres again following the team’s off-day Monday.

“This is something I don’t want to become a bigger issue,’’ Boone said. “We’ll go day-by-day with him and make sure it’s out of there completely.”

Tyler Wade started at shortstop in Torres’ absence.

In his previous five games, Torres is 7-for-14 with four extra-base hits and seven RBIs.

In other discouraging injury news, Boone said James Paxton still hasn’t resumed throwing after experiencing soreness in his elbow as he recovers from a flexor strain. With the postseason less than two weeks away, it’s becoming increasingly unlikely Paxton will be ready to rejoin the pitching staff, let alone the rotation.
