The first trailer for the highly-anticipated film “Dune”, from director Denis Villeneuve, has dropped online and it’s non-stop action from stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya and Jason Momoa.

The trailer was unveiled Wednesday on Twitter along with a panel hosted by Steven Colbert, featuring Villeneuve and members of the cast.

The action-packed three-minute trailer sees Chalamet as Paul Atreides of the House of Atreides, who must save the desert planet called Dune from an evil emperor’s rule.

Momoa, who plays top warrior for the House Atreides Duncan Idaho, said during the Q&A that filming some of the action scenes were intense for him — despite being known for his extreme workout routines.

“I’ve never run this much in my life,” Momoa said. “The sun was setting and so we had to get the shot. I had to run through this windstorm to Timothée, and I couldn’t see where I was going. I just didn’t want to fall on my face and I didn’t want to disappoint [Villeneuve]. But I’m not the best runner . . . and the amount of the chafing and the sweat that had built up, and I was like, I’m not gonna give up, I’m not gonna give up, but inside, I was crying like a little baby. There’s no way I want to be the black sheep in this thing, man.”

Another take on Frank Herbert’s iconic novel that has inspired countless science fiction and fantasy works over the years, the movie comes more than three decades after David Lynch’s 1984 film, which starred Kyle MacLachlan.

The 2020 remake also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Oscar Isaac and Stellan Skarsgård.

“Dune,” which is slated to hit theaters Dec. 18, 2020, will be one of two movies based on Herbert’s book and will cover the first half of the novel.

“The story is so rich and complex that, in order to be faithful to the book, we’ll need to make at least two movies,” Villeneuve said during Wednesday’s panel. “That was a deal right at the start.”

Warner Bros. also has an HBO Max prequel series in the works titled “Dune: The Sisterhood.”
