On Monday, Page Six reported that famed Southampton restaurant 75 Main — owned by Zach Erdem — had lost its liquor license because of violations of pandemic safety measures.

Now we’re told that Erdem’s other restaurant, Blu Mar, has also lost its license for similar offenses. Erdem tells us that both restaurants are still open (and serving free soft drinks), but that he estimates he’ll lose at least a half-million dollars because of the suspensions.

He says that across the two restaurants, he’s fired more than a dozen staff who were believed to be responsible for the breaches, which included improper social distancing. An underage agent working for the State Liquor Authority also bought alcohol without an ID at both venues.

Erdem says that they’re his first-ever offenses, and he feels that the SLA is targeting his businesses because they’re among the most popular eateries in the Hamptons.

“They want to send the message that they’ll shut restaurants down, so they’re targeting the biggest ones,” he said.

Meanwhile, Erdem says he’s spent $100,000 building partitions at his restaurants to allow diners to be socially distanced while they’re on his patios. He expects to have his licenses back “within a few weeks.”
