Liam Payne is reportedly engaged to girlfriend Maya Henry, after two years of dating.
Henry, 20, was spotted wearing a ring — supposedly worth in the neighborhood of £3 million — at tony London restaurant Novikov on Thursday, according to the UK’s Daily Mail. The tabloid has pictures; a source told them “it was hard to miss Maya’s ring — it’s a real dazzler.”
Texan model Henry and former One Direction-er Payne, 26, were able to keep the engagement on the down-low thanks to the coronavirus lockdown, with a source telling the Mail in February that the two “have been taking time off social media lately and enjoying each other’s company away from the spotlight.” They were, however, spotted in crowds at Black Lives Matter protests in London in June.
The couple were first linked in August 2018, shortly after Payne’s split from former “X-Factor” judge Cheryle Cole, 37. (Cole and Payne share a son, Bear, 3.) Payne confirmed the two were dating in September 2019.
It must be refreshing for Payne to be in the news for something good for a change. He allegedly got into a fight with bouncers at a bar in Texas in December, his song “Both Ways” was dinged on social media for fetishizing bisexuality, and then in April, One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson “told him off” for being a little too loose-lipped about the band’s reunion plans.
