Meghan Markle is happy to be back in the United States.

Welcoming her back to America, legendary activist Gloria Steinem said during an upcoming interview, “I’m so glad that you’re home.”

“Thank you. Me too, for so many reasons” the Duchess of Sussex responded in a short clip previewing the conversation for Makers Women, a women’s empowerment platform that will release the full Q&A on Wednesday.

In the video, Markle, 38, gushes over Steinem, 86, exclaiming, “People forget how hard women like you and so many others before you fought for us to just be where we are right now.”

At one point the couple were joined by Markle’s pooches, black Labrador Pula and rescue beagle Guy who lazed by Markle’s feet.

“[The dog] wants to be on camera,” Steinem joked while gesturing at Pula, who Markle and Prince Harry adopted together in 2018, shortly after they wed. Markle adopted Guy before she met Harry.

The video, which was filmed last month, followed social distancing protocol with the pair carefully spaced while sitting in deck chairs in a lush garden setting.
