The “Lost in Translation” director has found her star again.
AppleTV+ on Wednesday dropped the trailer for Oscar winner Sofia Coppola‘s latest film, “On the Rocks.”
The film, which is set to have a theatrical run in October, will reunite the director with Bill Murray, whom she last collaborated with on his 2015 special “A Very Murray Christmas.” He stars alongside Rashida Jones.
Over the next several months — depending on theater openings — audiences could see Murray in three major films: “On the Rocks,” Wes Anderson’s “The French Dispatch” (Oct. 16) and “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (March 5).
“On the Rocks” takes place in New York City, as Laura (Jones) and her father, Felix (Murray), follow Laura’s husband (Marlon Wayans), who she suspects is cheating on her. A father-daughter duo plot is appropriate for Coppola, whose father is, of course, the great Francis Ford Coppola.
The film will land on AppleTV+ after its theatrical run.
