The “Parent Trap” star adopted a kitty from a Virginia animal shelter this week named — what else? — Dennis Quaid.
“It was really off the wall, but I just couldn’t resist. I had to,” Quaid, the human, told the local news station WSLS. “I’m out to save all the Dennis Quaids of the world.”
The 66-year-old said he couldn’t wait to get his paws on his namesake feline after catching a heartfelt news segment about the jet-black mouser’s hunt for a home.
Quaid is now feline fine about picking up the 6-year-old furball at the Lynchburg Humane Society this weekend, according to the outlet.
The station didn’t explain how Dennis Quaid — the cat — got his Hollywood name.
