Celebrity chef Thomas Keller is permanently shutting down his eatery TAK Room at Hudson Yards, as well as his Bouchon Bakery location there.

The restaurant opened March of 2019 to some rave reviews. The Post crowned the TAK Room burger as the best in town (“bliss-on-a-bun”) last October.

But Keller told Page Six in a statement on Wednesday: “It is with an extremely heavy heart that I announce the permanent closure of our beloved New York restaurant, TAK Room, as well as the permanent closure of Bouchon Bakery at Hudson Yards. These decisions were not made lightly. They came after painful deliberations amid a pandemic that has devastated the global economy and caused irreparable damage to our business and profession. Given the challenges of the last five months; we could not find an economically viable path to continue operating without expected seasonal, New York tourism and traffic.”

He added that despite the challenges to restaurants these days, “we remain hopeful for the future.”

VIPs who dined at TAK Room during its Hudson Yards tenure included Michael Jordan, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen, Cindy Crawford, Martha Stewart and Pharrell Williams, among others. It also played home to some high-profile bashes for the likes of Cartier, InStyle and the Robin Hood Foundation.

A TAK Room was also reportedly in the works to open at Wynn Las Vegas, according to Eater, later this year.

Keller is also behind famed New York eatery Per Se.
