Danica Patrick has no room for negativity in her life.
On Monday, the former NASCAR driver — who recently split from boyfriend Aaron Rodgers after two years — took a critic to task over a remark made about her personal life.
“At 38, its over for you in the relationship world with high value men,” the Instagram user @reddpilled wrote, according to a screenshot from Entertainment Tonight. “From a failed marriage to failed dating clearly you have a problem in dating.”
Patrick, who was previously married to physical therapist Paul Edward Hospenthal from 2005-2013, zeroed-in on the comment and replied in her Instagram Story, “If we let what one person thinks of us be our reality, we are doomed.
“Realize that what someone says to us has a lot more to do with their own wounds and reality than ours,” she continued. “Our reality is our decision. Still not easy- but true.”
Last month, a rep for Patrick, 38, confirmed she and Rodgers, 36, are “no longer together.” Prior to her romance with the Green Bay Packers quarterback, Patrick had dated fellow driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Following the split, Patrick has been focused on herself. Last week, she enjoyed a lake trip with friends and took part in a new workout routine. She also thanked fans for their support.
“Just wanted to say thank you all for your kind comments. I read them. And I appreciate you,” she previously shared on Instagram.
