On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end confirmed he and girlfriend Kayla Nicole had broken up, vehemently denying that infidelity was the catalyst of the split.
“This is fake news… a lie… and not why Kayla and I broke up… take all your hatred somewhere else please,” Kelce tweeted, according to a screenshot captured by TMZ.
Kelce, 30, had replied to the post, “Girlfriend of NFL player Travis Kelce LEAVES Him After He Got Caught W/ Becky.”
Rumors of a split surfaced last week when the outlet reported Nicole had unfollowed Kelce on Instagram. Kelce’s last post is a cozy shot of the former couple on a boat.
“Living larger than life call this the yacht club,” he captioned the shot on July 21, to which Nicole replied, “for eva eva 🤞🏾.”
Like Patrick Mahomes’ longtime girlfriend Brittany Matthews, Nicole has been part of the Chiefs’ ongoing victory lap post-Super Bowl. In February, Nicole and Kelce joined Matthews and quarterback Mahomes during the parade festivities in Kansas City.
Kelce, who previously appeared on the E! dating series, “Catching Kelce,” had been linked to Kayla since 2017.
