Chloe x Halle transformed into the Spice Girls for their performance at Thursday’s 2020 GLAAD Media Awards, with a little help from a few “RuPaul’s Drag Race” favorites.
Singing “Do It” from their latest album “Ungodly Hour,” 19-year-old Chloe and 21-year-old Halle dressed up as Scary and Posh Spice, respectively, while Naomi Smalls channeled Ginger, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo did her best Sporty impression and Mayhem Miller played the role of Baby.
The spicy outfits for the performance were styled by the duo’s go-to Zerina Akers (who also dresses Beyoncé, Chloe x Halle’s superstar mentor) and custom-made by Venus Prototype Latex.
The “melanated Spice Girls” even have the British girl group’s stamp of approval. When Chloe x Halle tweeted a photo of the quintet captioned, “If you wanna be my lovaaa,” the Spice Girls themselves retweeted the snap, adding peace sign and heart emojis.
The stellar performance comes just a few days after Chloe x Halle became the new faces of Fendi, starring in the fashion house’s handbag campaign.
