Demi Moore is opening up about a mistake she made throughout her three failed marriages.

“For me, I had changed myself so many times over and over to fit what I thought somebody else wanted,” she said on SiriusXM’s “The Jess Cagle show” on Thursday. “It’s that idea that we’re kind of conditioned to work towards being desired, but we’re not supposed to have desires of our own.”

The “G.I. Jane” star was married to Freddy Moore from 1981 to 1985, Bruce Willis from 1987 to 2000 and Ashton Kutcher from 2005 to 2013.

“I think it’s a process of learning to love yourself, accepting who you are just as you are,” she said.

Moore, 57, said it is “commendable” it is to actually work though relationships in our “disposable times.”

She added, “To go through the journey of really honoring the love that brought you together in the first place and to really give it everything you’ve got, but you can’t do that without really that love and acceptance of yourself.”

In 2019, Moore revealed that writing her memoir, “Inside Out,” helped her with self-acceptance and self-love.

“The most important part was when I had to go back through all my things, and I started to gain an incredible depth of appreciation,” she said in an essay for InStyle. “Everything I had perceived as negative or bad, I now appreciate.”
