Bryan Cranston has revealed that he bested a case of COVID-19, writing on Instagram that “I was pretty strict in adhering to the protocols and still… I contracted the virus. Yep. it sounds daunting now that over 150,000 Americans are dead because of it. I was one of the lucky ones. Mild symptoms.”
“About now you’re probably feeling a little tied down, restricting your mobility and like me, you’re tired of this,” he prefaced the admission by saying. “Well, I just want to encourage you to have a little more patience.”
“I count my blessings and urge you to keep wearing the damn mask,” Cranston, 64, concluded. “Keep washing your hands, and stay socially distant. We can prevail — but only if we follow the rules together.”
The “Breaking Bad” star explained that he had the illness “a little while ago” and included a video of himself donating his antibody-positive plasma for research. He underwent the hour-long procedure at UCLA Blood and Plasma donation Center and — fun fact — passed the time by watching Andy Griffith’s “A Face in the Crowd.”
Cranston and his “Breaking Bad” co-star Aaron Paul announced in April that they were funneling sales of their mezcal brand, Dos Hombres, to various coronavirus relief organizations, including the United States Bartender’s Guild, the Hospitality Industry Relief Fund, and Leonardo DiCaprio’s America’s Food Fund.
