White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson called out ESPN while the network was broadcasting their exhibition game against the Cubs.
“You guys are finally noticing,” the 2019 AL batting champion said on Sunday night. “You guys from ESPN, I thought y’all guys forgot about us.”
The remark left the network’s MLB crew briefly speechless after asking Anderson about how excited he was about the team’s free agency additions earlier in the year. Anderson poked fun at the broadcasters and laughed to himself on camera. However, play-by-play man Jon Sciambi managed to break the awkward silence, and join in with the laughs.

“That’s really well-played by you,” Sciambi replied. “Big props for just coming right at us. I’m totally down with that.”
The White Sox beat the Cubs 6-2.
“Y’all are starting to notice! Y’all are starting to notice now!” Anderson said.
