Several celebrities and activists were arrested Tuesday afternoon protesting the police officers who killed Breonna Taylor, including “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams and “Love & Hip Hop” favorite Yandy Smith.
Earlier in the day, Williams’ fiancé, Dennis McKinley, posted a flyer on social media for a peaceful protest taking place at the home of Louisville, Kentucky attorney general Daniel Cameron. The 39-year-old Williams’ sister Lauren later shared footage of the reality star being escorted away in handcuffs.
“She has always been fearless,” Lauren captioned the clip. “You mess with her people, you mess with her. She takes the case of #breonnataylor personally and she’s sacrificing work, time with her loved ones, and her comfort to make sure the offenders are held accountable for their actions. This is her passion, this is her purpose.”
Smith, 38, also took to Instagram before her arrest, captioning her video of the protest, “#breonnataylor can’t go home, so we invited ourselves to your house attorney general @danieljaycameron Just like the cops did when they murdered her. #sayhername We don’t plan on letting up until you arrest the cops.”
The post was later updated to inform fans that Smith, Williams, rapper-activists Trae tha Truth and Mysonne, as well as “over 100” others, were arrested.
Taylor, a 26-year-old black woman, was killed March 13 during a botched police raid at her home in Louisville. Last month, Beyoncé demanded in a public letter to Cameron that the officers involved be prosecuted. Cameron responded at a press conference, claiming that he wouldn’t be swayed by her or any other celebrity, saying, “An investigation of this magnitude, when done correctly, requires time and patience.”
