Logan, 64, who played the sensible housekeeper Mrs. Hughes jokingly told Page Six that she wishes she “had the formula so I could write my own and be as successful, that would be nice.”
“I don’t know,” she continued. “I think because it looks beautiful, [creator] Julian [Fellowes] writes a great story with fabulous characters, the setting is wonderful and it’s a bit of escapism.”
Logan who has been quarantining with her husband at home West London’s Chiswick reveled that she’s not one for housekeeping in real life and playing Mrs. Hughes hasn’t helped as the character delegated the dusting and polishing and didn’t have to do any herself.
The “Secrets & Lies” actress admits that she is closest to the other “servants” on staff and had just spoken to her on-screen husband, Jim Carter, who played Carson.
“We were on the phone having a wee chat today,” she said.
The entire cast is also on a WhatsApp group that was set up when the show’s film spinoff film premiered in New York last year, she said.
The “Downton Abbey” movie was a huge hit worldwide and Logan says the cast are all ready to sign on for a sequel.
And as for binging the show now in the midst of lockdown?
“It’s like getting a nice pair of old slippers on and cuddling up under a nice blanket,” she aptly puts it.
The “Downton Abbey” series and movie begin streaming on Peacock, July 15.
