Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Mets’ first-round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft on Wednesday night, is from a family that is no stranger to the big stage.
Both of Crow-Armstrong’s parents are actors, with his mom playing a role in a well-known baseball movie. His mom, Ashley Crow, played Billy Heywood’s mom Jenny in “Little Big League,” which came out in 1994 – eight years before Pete was born in 2002. Heywood improbably became the owner of the Twins as a 12-year-old when his grandfather died.
She’s also had roles in NBC’s “Heroes” and “Minority Report,” which starred Tom Cruise.
“The only one I can really think of that I’ve seen in-depth is ‘Little Big League,’ because I love that movie, regardless of my mom being in it,” Crow-Armstrong told the Los Angeles Times recently. “It’s a great movie.”
His dad, Matthew John Armstrong, appeared in a variety of TV shows like “House,” “The Young and the Restless” and “American Horror Story.”
