Mark Cuban refused to rule out a run for the White House on Thursday, saying “stranger things have happened.”

Asked at a virtual event about his chances of making a bid, Cuban, 61, said, “It’s highly unlikely because of the timing, but stranger things have happened. You know me, I’m an entrepreneur — I’m never going to say ‘no.’”

The Dallas Mavericks owner and “Shark Tank” star has floated the idea of running several times, before both the 2016 and 2020 elections.

Speaking at the “Reset Your Mindset at Work” event hosted by Yahoo and Fortune, Cuban also refused to throw his longtime verbal sparring partner President Trump “under the bus” for his response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Appearing alongside Serena Williams, Cuban said that he thinks the government got off to a good start with the crisis. “The President was much more open-minded, and then something flipped and he went in a completely different direction,” he said, “but it’s not just him — and it’s not like I’m throwing him under the bus. I think he could have done better but, when you have imperfect information, you make imperfect decisions.”

He also took a shot at the Democrats, saying that the government’s paycheck protection loans to small businesses would have saved more jobs if Congress had approved them earlier. “It was delayed because the Democrats kept trying to get money for museums, or get money for other things,” he said, “and every day that added on to that made things far worse and added onto the unemployment.”
