Bailey Cypher, daughter of Melissa Etheridge and Julie Cypher, paid tribute her brother Beckett, who tragically died at age 21 following a battle with drug addiction.

“I don’t know what to say,” Bailey, 23, wrote on Instagram Wednesday alongside three childhood photos of herself and Beckett. “Today we lost my brother. Too heartbroken and overwhelmed to be eloquent but appreciate all those who have reached out. I love you, Beckett. Fly high and watch over us.”

Cypher’s tribute comes after Etheridge, 58, posted on Wednesday that she lost her son to opioid addiction.

“My son Beckett, who was just 21, struggled to overcome his addiction and finally succumbed to it today,” she wrote. “He will be missed by those who loved him, his family and friends. My heart is broken. I am grateful for those who have reached out with condolences and I feel their love and sincere grief.”

She continued, “We struggle with what else we could have done to save him, and in the end we know he is out of the pain now. I will sing again, soon. It has always healed me.”

Etheridge and Cypher met in 1988 on the set of the singer’s music video “Bring Me Some Water.” Cypher gave birth to Bailey in 1997 and Beckett the following year. Several years after the children were born, gossip surrounded the identity of the sperm donor. In 2000, the same year they split up, Etheridge and Cypher revealed that the donor was musician David Crosby.
