Beanie Feldstein, who stars in the new flick “How To Build A Girl,” mastered the difficult Wolverhampton, West Midlands English accent by actually working in a gift shop in the town.

“It’s not just a London accent, your typical posh accent or cockney accent … We knew the only way for me to get it was for me to go and spend some time there,” she said in a Zoom Q&A held by Andrew Saffir’s Cinema Society.

Feldstein, 26, added, “They let me interact with the customers … while helping me with the accent,” she said. The film, based on Caitlin Moran’s book of the same name, drew Madonna, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, Mindy Kaling, and Jenny Slate to the online screening.
