“Star Wars” has released a heartstring-tugging new video montage celebrating the franchise’s holiday — with a not-so-subtle message in light of the coronavirus pandemic that might just restore your faith in the galaxy.

“Star Wars” Day began as an unofficial fan meme, occurring annually on this date because of the convenient wordplay on the film’s tagline, “May the 4th be with you.” The holiday has since been officially adopted by the “Star Wars” organization.

The one-minute, 40-second video features sentimental snippets from various Star Wars productions going back to the 1977 original, and including spinoff cartoon “Clone Wars.”

Halfway through the reel, a voiceover reads one line: “When you find people who need your help, you help them — no matter what.”

This day also marks the long-awaited finale to “The Clone Wars” (Cartoon Network), which began in 2008 but was abruptly canceled in 2013 during Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm, leaving viewers to wonder what had been in store for the final seasons.

The series was finally revived in 2014 on Netflix for Season 6, then pulled from the streaming service as Disney+ launched in 2019. In 2020, the new streaming network gave the show a final season, No. ‌7, and a proper finale, which airs tonight on Disney+.

Last year’s “Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker,” the third film in the franchise’s sequel trilogy starring Daisy Ridley (Rey) and John Boyega (Finn) was also added to Disney+ lineup today to stream free for subscribers.

Meanwhile, Mattel used the holiday to drop their latest Star Wars x Barbie collection. The new line of dolls honors beloved characters Rey, C-3PO, a Stormtrooper and Chewbacca. Priced at $100 each on Barbie’s website or Amazon, the limited-edition figurines are the haute couture versions of the film’s utilitarian fashion design.
