Kirk Douglas’ widow, Anne Buydens, celebrated her 101st birthday on Thursday with a car procession held by friends and family, including her grandson, Cameron Douglas.
Cameron, the son of actor Michael Douglas, 75, captured the celebration on his Instagram Stories.
“Here we are, coming to Anne’s 101st birthday,” Cameron noted while in the car with his 2-year-old daughter Lua and wife Viviane Thibes. “First birthday without Pappy. Now we’re going to stay with it as we go through this amazing procession.”

He continued, “Now, we’ve been in line for about 20 or 30 minutes. I’d wait 20 or 30 hours to say happy birthday to Anne and here we go.”
Upon arriving at the head of the procession, the 41-year-old author of “Long Way Home” delivered a bouquet of flowers to the centenarian, who was sitting in a wheelchair next to her dog.
He also shared a photo on Instagram of Buydens and his grandfather Kirk — who passed away this February at 103 —
writing, “Happy Birthday Oma 🥂 Here’s to 101 years of Love, Light and Guidance! We Love you!”
Cameron wasn’t the only Douglas family member to mark the day.
Michael, whose mother Diana Douglas was Kirk’s first wife, captioned a photo of himself with his Father and Anne, “Happy birthday Anne Douglas! The best stepmother a stepson could hope for! ❤️”
Michael’s wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones also shared a sweet photo of them together, writing, “Happy Birthday to my extraordinary step-mother in Law. Our Queen, our Oma. You personify everything that is good in a woman. I admire you and love you so very much. 101 years young today. 🥰🥰Anne Douglas thank you for everything that you have done for people in our world. ❤️”
Zeta-Jones, 50, and Michael’s daughter Carys, 17, shared a retro photo of Buydens lounging in a pool with Kirk on Instagram Stories, captioning it, “Happy 101st birthday to my wonderful Oma!! Your beauty, intellect and grace is my inspiration.”
Kirk married German-born Anne in 1954. The couple were married for nearly 70 years. They shared two sons, Eric and Peter, along with Kirk’s children from his first marriage — Joel and Michael.
