Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine wants permission to record music videos in his backyard while he rides out the rest of his federal prison sentence under home confinement over fears he would catch coronavirus in the clink, his lawyer said in a letter to a judge.

“I am writing today only to request the court’s approval to permit Mr. Hernandez to spend up to two hours in his backyard, once a week, for employment purposes only,” according to the letter sent to federal Judge Paul Engelmayer on Thursday and signed by Tekashi attorney Lance Lazarro.

“He is looking to record music videos.”

Tekashi’s video sets, however, have long been plagued by actual shootings.

A gunman fired several rounds about a block from where Tekashi and 50 Cent were filming a music video in Brooklyn in August 2018. A few months later in November, he was shooting another music video with Kanye West and Nicki Minaj in a rented Beverly Hills mansion when shots were fired through a window, according to media reports.

A federal judge sprung the rapper-turned-snitch from a private prison in Queens earlier this month amid the pandemic. Lawyers for the rainbow-haired rhymer had argued that he has asthma and could be at risk of death if he contracts the virus behind bars.

Tekashi — whose real name is Daniel Hernandez — pleaded guilty in December to racketeering and other charges and was sentenced to two years in prison. He’s expected to finish out his term in home confinement, which is scheduled to end July 31.

The “Oof” rapper had faced decades in prison before agreeing to cooperate with the government and testifying against members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
