And then there was one.
Julian Edelman remains on the Patriots roster as of Wednesday, following Tuesday’s shocking trade of Rob Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where the once-retired tight end will reunite with former quarterback Tom Brady.
Brady first reacted to the news on social media and it seems Edelman did, too.
As of late Tuesday afternoon, it appeared Edelman had unfollowed Brady on Instagram, according to a screenshot captured by Henry McKenna of USA Today. Not long after, the wide receiver appeared to re-follow the six-time Super Bowl champ.
Brady still follows Edelman as of Wednesday morning.
Prior to Brady joining the Buccaneers in free agency, Edelman was a vocal proponent of the quarterback remaining in New England, even hawking “Stay Tom” T-shirts. This month, Edelman seemingly supported the idea of joining Brady in Tampa Bay.
Edelman has since embraced another change in New England, posting about the team’s updated uniforms.
“Look good, feel good, Feel good, play good,” he posted Monday on Instagram.
Edelman is under contract with the Patriots through the 2021 season after signing a two-year, $18 million contract extension in 2019.
