Josh Brolin is apologizing for breaking social distancing rules after he visited his father James Brolin and stepmom Barbra Streisand over the weekend.

“My father lives next door to us and we had a plan to go see them and not be near them and that plan was broken and that’s our responsibility,” Brolin, 52, explained in an apology video on Instagram, adding that he and his wife were going over there to pick something up and wanted to show their 1-year-old daughter, Westlyn, his parent’s pool.

“I think it was irresponsible,” he admitted. ”It’s hard to be honest sometimes. It’s hard to be honest and say, ‘Maybe I screwed up.’ I knew that was in the air. Not because of the responses, but the responses brought me back to my own truth.”

The “Avengers” star added that he doesn’t care about social media or Instagram followers, but felt a sense of responsibility to the community.

“I’m not an advocate of doing anything outside of taking care of each other and making sure we get through this even if we go overboard and are too protective, at least we’re doing it for a reason,” he said.

He has since deleted the initial video of himself and his family at his father and Streisand’s digs in Malibu, which swiftly received backlash, but it appears his apology did the trick.

“You think you made a mistake. We all have. This is new to everyone and we are all a work in progress,” one follower wrote.

Another commented: “Takes a man good to the core to admit when he is wrong.”

“Don’t drag yourself brother,” one fan advised. “It was a moment. A lapse in judgement and you accounted for it. You took responsibility for it. You can only go forward and y’all know what to do: stay in.”

The “Deadpool 2” actor and his family are still visiting his father and Streisand, but strictly adhering to social distancing rules.

The “Yentl” star posted a sweet photo (that was taken through a window) of Brolin’s wife, Kathryn holding up a homemade sign that read, “We ❤️you Gamma and Grampa.”

“I just love the sign that Josh and Kathryn painted yesterday when they came to see us with our little grandchild Westlyn!” she wrote.
