Andie MacDowell and her daughters, Rainey and Margaret Qualley, were photographed allegedly sneaking out of a park in Los Angeles that is temporarily closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.
On Sunday, the actresses were seen crawling out from under a large, iron gate at the Audubon Center in Debs Park that had a big red sign with white letters that said, “Entrance gate closed at 5 p.m.”
The group was casually dressed and appeared to be coming from a hike.
MacDowell, 61, had the family’s small dog on a leash as she made her way under the gate. Margaret, 25, followed behind her mother, and Rainey, 30, can be seen holding a different leash as she also snuck out.
According to the park’s website, the Audubon Center and its trails are closed until April 30.
“Our team at the Audubon Center at Debs Park has been monitoring the situation surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) in Los Angeles County,” a statement posted on March 13 says. “In the spirit of being good community members, the Audubon Center at Debs Park is taking steps to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) across the communities we serve.”
Center director Marcos Trinidad confirmed to Page Six on Monday that the Audubon Center at Debs Park and the trails within the 282 acres of Ernest E. Debs Park are closed in compliance with LA Mayor Eric Garcetti’s “safer at home” orders.
In response to the alleged trespassing, Trinidad told us, “No one from the Audubon encountered them and we will not penalize them.”
Jason Howe, the park’s communications manager, added, “[MacDowell] and her family are more than welcome to visit us when we’re open again. We think Debs Park is a beautiful place, and we’d love to show her around when it’s safe to do so.”
On Sunday, the “Groundhog Day” star shared a recipe for a healthy meal from her kitchen. “Just sharing. Miss people, want to hug people so bad,” she commented on her Instagram Stories.
MacDowell and the Qualleys’ reps did not immediately return our requests for comment.
