If Kelly Ripa hadn’t become a successful talk show host there’s a good chance she would have been a midwife.

On Wednesday’s episode of “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” the 49-year-old talk show host interviewed Jennifer Shoback, a midwife from Wilkes-Barre, PA. During the segment, Ripa revealed that midwifery was a dream job for her.

“You are living my other profession,” Ripa noted. “Once upon a time, I was like ‘I wish I could be a midwife or a doula,’” Ripa continued. “I wish I had that level of expertise because I just find the whole childbirth experience so incredible and miraculous, you do such a phenomenal job there.”

Ripa shares three children with husband Mark Consuelos — Michael, 22, Lola, 18 and Joaquin, 17.

Meanwhile, Ripa isn’t the only celeb enamored with being a midwife or doula.

Penn Badgley’s wife, singer Domino Kirke, became a doula over ten years ago, co-founding the doula business collective, Carriage House Birth. Amy Schumer gave Kirke a shout-out on Instagram for helping during the pregnancy and birth of her son, Gene.

Grammy Award-winning artist Erykah Badu has been offering midwife services since 2001. The “Green Eyes” singer — known by her clients as Erykah Badoula — has, to date, assisted in 40 births.
