Miranda Lambert is in hot water after posting a throwback photo with convicted felon and “Tiger King” star Joe Exotic.

“#WayTooPrettyForPrison,” she captioned a trio of photos on Monday that included snaps with Exotic, his ex-husband John Finlay and two other zoo workers including Kelci ‘Saff’ Saffery, who is featured prominently in the Netflix documentary.

Fans were dismayed that the ardent animal lover would share a throwback snap of herself with Exotic, who is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence for two counts of murder for hire and 17 federal charges of animal abuse.

One follower commented, “I wouldn’t be bragging about Tiger King. Have you seen hidden videos of him punching tigers in the face? Shame on anyone who is in his corner.”

While another disappointed fan added, “Joe is Too pretty for prison? Well tigers are too pretty to be captive in conditions that Joe kept them in. They are too pretty to be shot and killed for no reason.”

Hours later, the 36-year-old “Little Red Wagon” singer tweeted out a statement professing ignorance.

“Backstory: During Hurricane Harvey, the MuttNation Team went to Houston to help relocate existing shelter dogs to free up shelter dogs to free up shelter space for animals separated by their owners,” she wrote. “MuttNation asked for volunteers who could transport some dogs from Houston to shelters in Oklahoma, where there was more room and they could be treated and adopted.”

She continued, “Some guy named Joe volunteered his trailer and staff. Now I know it’s ‘Joe Exotic.’ I’ve never been to his zoo and I didn’t even know he had tigers. OBVIOUSLY I’d never condone animals being treated badly.”

A rep for Lambert did not return our request for comment.
