Big apple, small world.

Despite never actually having met in person, Leah McSweeney says that Bethenny Frankel was the driving force behind her casting on “The Real Housewives of New York City.”

In a new interview on Daryn Carp and Liz Culley’s podcast, “Scissoring Isn’t a Thing,” McSweeney, 37, explained how she was “psyched” when Frankel, 49, randomly began following her on Instagram.

“Then, actually, I got a text message from our … I have a facialist that I’ve been going to for a very long time, who unbeknownst to me, is also Bethenny’s facialist,” McSweeney said. “So, she’s like, ‘You know, Bethenny Frankel wants me to ask you if you would ever be a “Housewife” of New York.’”

McSweeney said it was the “weirdest text message” she’s ever gotten, but that how how her name was given to the hit Bravo series. She also said she still has never met the Skinnygirl mogul and probably won’t anytime soon because she has since unfollowed her on the social media platform.

“I don’t think it’s a personal thing,” McSweeney said. “I don’t know what it is. You know, whatever. But I mean, I only have gratitude towards her.”

McSweeney was first spotted filming with Tinsley Mortimer in August, and it was announced that she was joining the show during the BravoCon taping of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in November.

Meanwhile, it appears Frankel is at war with “RHONY” producers after she blasted the show’s ratings during a TV interview last week.

“We all can’t believe she’s out there bashing the show when the ratings are good and she’s proclaimed to have moved on when she decided to leave the franchise,” a source close to the cast told Page Six at the time. “I know the ladies only wish her more success with her new show than she had with the last one!”
