Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott working out with Dez Bryant while the country is supposed to be observing social distancing was bad enough.
But hosting a dinner party with reportedly up to 30 guests? The Cowboys stars may have some explaining to do.
Prescott threw a birthday party for one of his friends at his house in Texas on Friday night, according to TMZ, and as many as 30 people, including Elliott, attended at a time when the state is under stay-at-home orders because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Prescott may have stayed home, but the number of guests the Cowboys quarterback, 26, hosted was well beyond the latest CDC advisory of no social gatherings of more than 10 people.
Later in the night at Prescott’s house, there was a sit-down dinner for a smaller group, TMZ reported.
On April 1, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an executive order to require all residents to stay at home except for those providing essential services or doing things like grocery shopping.
Elliott, 24, seemed to ignore his own advice. The Cowboys running back posted to Instagram on March 22 with an ad from Nike that urged people to stay inside.
“If you ever dreamed of playing for millions around the world, now is your chance,” the post read. “Play inside, play for the world.”
Prescott and Elliott may not have any offseason activities to worry about any time soon as the country tries to slow the spread of COVID-19. The NFL has indefinitely delayed teams’ offseason programs, which were set to begin April 6 for clubs with new head coaches — including the Cowboys and Mike McCarthy.
It remains to be seen whether the NFL’s regular season will be affected.
Prescott, meanwhile, is still on the hunt for a new contract. He currently has one year left after getting franchise-tagged, allowing him and the Cowboys to negotiate a new deal until July 15.
