Newlyweds Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell are thankful for Russell Crowe‘s generosity.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Aussie native Irwin thanked the “Gladiator” actor for the “beautiful” fig tree wedding gift, all the while wishing the Oscar winner a happy birthday.
“Happy Birthday, @russellcrowe,” 21-year-old Irwin began. “You’ll always be part of our family. Even though we can’t see you right now, we’re giving the beautiful fig you gifted us a hug and thinking of you. Hope your day is extraordinary.”
Fellow Aussie Crowe, who turned 56 on April 7, presented Irwin and Powell a Port Jackson Fig for their March 25 nuptials. He signed the card: “Presented to Bindi and Chandler to commemorate their wedding. Love from, Russell Crowe and family.”
Last month, Irwin married Powell, 23, in a private ceremony with immediate family only, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding,” Irwin wrote on Instagram at the time. “This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe.”
Irwin also planned to honor her late father Steve at the nuptials. The “Crocodile Hunter” died in September 2006 after being pierced by a stingray.
