In an interview for UMC.tv’s four-part docuseries “Behind Her Faith,” 50-year-old Nash opens up about how she thought joining the women’s group at her local church might help her be “delivered” from some of her problems.
“I ran from pain for a long time, and then I joined the women’s group at church and we were supposed to — the goal was to grow in your faith and become a woman of God and girl…these women want to talk about recipes,” Nash explains in a clip exclusively obtained by Page Six.
“I don’t know what was happening, and I was just like, ‘Well are we going to start growing? What are we doing in here because I know I got some foolishness that I need to be delivered from.’ And I almost kind of messed up the group…”
The “Claws” star, who recently finalized her divorce from Jay Tucker, recalls a woman complaining about someone at work calling her “the b-word,” which appeared to irk Nash, who wanted to talk about life’s bigger issues.
“Everyone was trying to piecemeal her back together, and I was like, ‘I am so over this. First of all, that is exactly what you are, so stop it right now, and let me tell you what’s wrong with me, and let me tell you what’s wrong with you…and can we get to that,” she continues.
Nash’s reaction wasn’t well-received by the group, as she recalled them saying, “‘She read us all for filth.’”
“I know. I’m just saying can we talk about the filthy part? ‘Cause that’s the part. We all got the part, and we can babysit that part,” the actress recalls.
“I just got tired of doing life the way I had been doing it,” she says, “and I didn’t feel any better for it.”
