Now there are two more reasons to love Dolly Parton.

On Wednesday, the 74-year-old performer announced on Twitter than she is making a generous donation to Vanderbilt University to help further the research for a coronavirus cure.

“I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations,” Parton, wrote.

“My longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved in research at Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for a cure.”

And in another Dolly dispatch, the “9 to 5” singer will soon be helping put your children to bed.

Starting Thursday, April 2, Parton will begin reading  bedtime stories to kids in a new virtual series called “Goodnight with Dolly.” Each week the “Steel Magnolias” star will read a book from the Imagination Library — her book gifting program which sends free books to children.

“This is something I have been wanting to do for quite a while, but the timing never felt quite right,” Parton said in a statement on the program’s website. “I think it is pretty clear that now is the time to share a story and to share some love.” The first book that she’ll be reading is the classic tale, “The Little Engine That Could.”
