The Duchess of Cambridge’s brother, James Middleton, has canceled one of high society’s biggest events of the year — his wedding to French fiancée, Alizee Thevenet.
Middleton, 32, is concerned about the well-being of traveling guests, and felt there was no other option but to abandon his plans to wed the 29-year-old financial expert this summer due to the spread of coronavirus.
“It’s very sad, but it’s just not practical to hold it in this crisis,” one of his friends told The Daily Mail.
“Holding an AngloFrench wedding is impossible in the coming months and is still likely to be difficult in the summer. They would prefer to wait until all their guests are able — and happy — to attend.”
The entrepreneur proposed to Thevenet in October 2019. The couple met in 2018 at the South Kensington Club after Thevenet struck up a conversation about Middleton’s dog, a cocker spaniel named Ella.
