Tom Brady chose the Buccaneers because of his son

Tom Brady decided to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers partly because of his son

Tom Brady decided to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers partly because of his son, USA GAG is told.

The NFL legend shares a 12-year-old, Jack, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan. And while we’re told he considered other teams further from Jack’s New York City home, he chose the Florida team to stay close to his kid.

“It was between three teams and he’s going with the Buccaneers. They’ll likely announce it on Thursday or Friday,” the source said.

“A lot of [the reason for his choice] had to do with proximity to New York,” said the insider, “Jack lives in New York and he wants to be close to his son.”

The Los Angeles Chargers had also been rumored as a possible new home for the superstar.

Brady announced he was leaving the New England Patriots, where he won six Super Bowls and played for two decades, on Tuesday. “I don’t know what the future holds, but it is time for me to open a new stage for my life and career,” he said.

He followed up the announcement with a heartfelt letter to Patriots fans and supporters. “It has truly been the happiest two decades I could have envisioned in my life and I have nothing but love and gratitude for my time in New England,” he wrote on Instagram.

Brady dated “Blue Bloods” actress Moynahan from 2004 until 2006. Their split made headlines because she announced that she was pregnant with Jack shortly after she and Brady had broken up.

He also has two children with wife Gisele Bündchen.
