She’s 49! Look Back at Gwyneth Paltrow’s Best Style Moments

From her ballerina-inspired 1999 Oscars dress to figure-flaunting slinky frocks, Gwyneth Paltrow's style evolution is a masterclass in effortless minimalism — pics

All hail the Goop queen! There’s no denying that Gwyneth Paltrow has treated Us to some pretty spectacular fashion and beauty moments throughout her career.

From the ballerina-inspired Ralph Lauren gown she wore to collect her Best Actress statue at the 1999 Oscars to slinky dresses and chic separates that show off her super fit physique, the blonde beauty has a masters in effortless minimalism.

And it’s partially due to her whole go-with-the-flow mentality. Take the 2012 Met Gala for instance. The actress stunned in a super short Prada mini dress that, as it turns out, was a spur of the moment style decision.

In an April video with Vogue, the CEO revealed that the dress was actually a simple shirt. “I guess I should mention that this was the shirt. There was a big skirt that came with it,” she said in the video. “But, I was like, ‘No this is great. I love this.’ You know you gotta get the weapons out, so I decided to go with just the shirt.”

Regardless what decisions go on behind the scenes, it’s safe to say that whenever the Iron Man star steps foot on a red carpet, the internet is going to go wild. From her “naked” Fendi dress at the 2020 Golden Globes to her sheer Valentino dress at the 2019 Emmys, Paltrow never fails to make a style statement.

When it comes to hair, the star keeps everything pretty simple, staying true to her SoCal roots with beachy blonde strands.

She’s embraced long locks for the majority of her time in the spotlight, but Paltrow did rock a shorter ‘do circa the late ‘90s, when she was dating Brad Pitt. Paltrow revealed via a Goop Instagram video that the “matching haircuts” were courtesy of her longtime hairstylist Chris McMillan.

We’d be remiss not to serve up the details on Paltrow’s lit-from-within glow. After all, the star looks pretty freaking fabulous at 49. And it probably has something to do with her $900 skincare routine.

The Iron Man actress broke down exactly what products and rituals made their way into her regimen during a “Get Ready With Me” video for Vogue in March.

A few of her favorite products include the GoopGlow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator, $125, and the Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum, which costs $185. Even though the serum has a big price tag, Paltrow says “it’s really efficacious and works wonders on your skin.”

So, in honor of her birthday and in an effort to soak up her style, keep scrolling to take a look back at Paltrow’s fashion evolution through the years.
