Kate Moss has certainly mastered the art of walking down the catwalk and knows how to dress for success, but her expertise doesn’t extend into the tattoo arena — yet!

While the 47-year-old model’s skills have yet to be fine tuned, her tattoo artist and friend Daniel Cason told the Sunday Mirror that Moss is currently training to become a tattoo artist.

“She said she wanted to learn tattooing from me so we can go to Glastonbury to tattoo people,” he told the outlet. “She called me to go up and tattoo her and she ended up tattooing me as well.”

Moss got an A+ for effort, but Cason did note that the experience was “quite painful” and she “didn’t know what to do.” Even without a hand as light as a feather, Cason, who Moss trusts to touch up her ink from the late Lucian Freud, still let the model do her thing. “It’s Kate Moss, so I was like yeah, let her.”

He even took to Instagram to share a peek of the model in action. “Throwback — I was teaching a few tricks to Kate who was about to tattoo me,” he captioned his post, showing the model dipping a needle into ink.

The end result? A lovely tribute tattoo in honor of herself. “She gave me ‘Kate’ and a love heart on my arm,” he said.

The actress isn’t the only star to give Cason some ink — Rita Ora has also made her mark, engraving her signature on his arm.

While the designs are worthwhile in the end, it seems as though Cason has a few things to teach his disciples. And rightfully so, a typical tattoo apprenticeship takes anywhere from one to three years. “They didn’t know what to do and they went quite deep but I thought you know what, I don’t mind,” he explained.

“I think there was a little bit of competition between her [Ora] and Kate,” Cason continued. “These people have a lot of life experience, but one thing they haven’t done is tattoo people. I give them the machine and they start shaking like a leaf. They are out of their comfort zone, but it is an unforgettable experience.”

Ora and Moss aren’t the only two stars to pick up a tattoo needle in recent weeks. Kourtney Kardashian took a stab at the trade, giving boyfriend Travis Barker an “I love you” tattoo in her handwriting.

She showed off her handy work last month, taking to Instagram to demonstrate her creative process, from sketching to inking.

“I tattoo,” she captioned her post. Barker responded, “Woman of many talents.”
