“I can’t wait to get back to work and back to our studio. And, yes, we’re gonna talk about it,” the 62-year-old talk show host, who has been accused of creating a toxic work environment, said in a statement.
The announcement also boasted upcoming A-list guests including Tiffany Haddish, Kerry Washington, Alec Baldwin, Chrissy Teigen, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Adam Sandler and Orlando Bloom.
According to the release, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the set DJ and recently promoted co-executive producer, is set to guest host episodes of the show this fall. He broke his silence in August, saying, “Obviously there’s some things to address, but from my standpoint and from countless others, there’s been love.”
DeGeneres has been under fire since May, when it was revealed in a Twitter thread that the talk show host was not as nice as she seemed. In July, dozens of former staff members alleged multiple incidents of sexual misconduct, harassment and assault from top execs on the show.
At the time, DeGeneres issued an apology that seemingly blamed the people around her for the environment, saying she has “not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Clearly some didn’t.”
She added that she was “committed” to doing better going forward.
Amid WarnerMedia’s ongoing investigation into the claims, three senior producers were axed and employee perks have been increased.
Meanwhile, celebrities have been taking sides in the drama, including Kevin Hart and Diane Keaton, who have defended DeGeneres. Brad Garrett and Lea Thompson were among the celebrities that sided with the accusers.
