Sinead O’Connor is training to become a medical professional.

“Very excited to be starting college in a few weeks : ) Fetac Level 5 Healthcare Support,” O’Connor, 53, tweeted on Monday.

The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer clarified that her new profession in healthcare does not mean her music career is over.

“[I] Am still gonna be a singer but am gonna work as a healthcare assistant when I’m between albums and tours,” she wrote.

O’Connor expressed earlier this year how she wanted to help those working the frontlines amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Obviously the Covid thing gave me more thought for what do I want to do with my life,” she told Ireland’s “The Late Late Show” host Ryan Tubridy in May (via Yahoo! Sports).

She added, “If I had taken this course two years ago but touring got in the way I could have been out working and helping people which I would have liked to have been doing.”

The artist has been vocal about her aversion towards anti-maskers.

“Can I please ask that selfishly unmasked crowds standing shoulder to shoulder protesting and ignoring Covid protective restrictions not use my music as if to suggest I support you in any way. I do not,” she tweeted in August.
