“Sister, Sister” star Marques Houston, 39, has gotten hitched to Miya Dickey, 19. The pair’s ceremony took place at the Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona, Calif. Monday, according to E! News. Per county regulations, a small group of guests were present as witnesses.
The pair shared the same statement on their individual Instagram accounts, reading in part, “We can’t believe the day has finally come! The day when the two of us were bonded together before Jehovah to become one. Jehovah has blessed us with a true happiness that is unmatched!”
Houston was forced to defend his relationship with the former Ms. Dickey earlier this year, when a Twitter thread alleged that Houston began seeing Dickey while she was still underage.
“I met Miya in 2018 through a mutual friend. Never before then did I even know she existed,” Houston wrote in a lengthy post to Instagram. He explains that the two met at a Jehovah’s Witness convention when Miya befriended the daughter of Houston’s manager, Chris Stokes, whom she calls “dad.”
“Miya and I didn’t start dating until she was an adult,” he added. “We fell in love and got engaged in March of 2019. My dad Michael loves her and the people I am closest to all love her as well. Most importantly we have Jehovah’s blessing.”
