Amber Riley will pay tribute to her late “Glee” co-star Naya Rivera on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday — and promised to make a special revelation on the show.
The 34-year-old actress and singer announced the appearance on Instagram by posting an image that read: “Catch RILEY tribute performance to Naya Rivera on Jimmy Kimmel Live! August 27th (sic)”
The post also said to “stay tuned” for a “special announcement” that will be made on Kimmel, but didn’t give any hints at what that might be.
Rivera, who played Santana Lopez on the hit series, tragically drowned last month at Lake Piru, California, aged 33.
Riley paid tribute to Rivera in July, posting several snaps of the two performing together.
She wrote alongside them: “miss you baby girl and I love you #NayaRivera I’m so mad the world will never see how high you could have soared. Her brain was brilliant. She was smart and as quick as a whip. Always had me in stitches, we would be in tears laughing so hard at one another.
“There was never competition, or shade, or intimidation with us. Just pure adoration and mutual respect. You deserved better. You were so much more than just this show. Your talent outshined us all so many times!”
