Megan Thee Stallion is taking a stand against domestic and gun violence by naming her rumored ex-flame Tory Lanez as the man who shot her, friends confirmed to Page Six.
The chart-topping “WAP” rapper was shot in the feet after leaving a party in Hollywood last month. Pals told us the star had been under pressure not to name Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) as the person who pulled the trigger.
A source said, “Megan wasn’t going to name names, she wasn’t going to go there — she wasn’t planning on talking to police. She was protecting herself. People in her camp and in Tory’s camp shut everyone down so fast you could barely blink. But there were lies that were being spread and she wasn’t going to stand for it.” The source said she was upset by claims that she’d faked her injuries.
Now, Megan is being called in to speak to LA investigators and the district attorney. The DA’s office told us: “Our office asked law enforcement for further investigation before making a filing decision on a charge of felony assault with a semi-automatic firearm — personal use of a firearm, against Daystar Peterson.”
Asked how Megan is doing, her hair stylist and close friend Jonathan Wright told us: “She has grown a lot mentally, physically and everything in between. I’m very glad that my friend has this confidence, and is open to showing what she’s been through. She don’t like people to feel sorry for her, she is a hustler. It is just a relief to see the music she is putting out there.” He added, “She’s not a person to want sympathy when something like that happens. It’s just a situation where you have to just move on and go from there.”
Megan said that there was an argument between passengers in the vehicle and that Lanez shot her when she tried to walk away. She underwent surgery to have the bullets removed, calling it “super scary” and “the worst experience of my life.”
Friends said Megan and Lanez have definitely split up, and she was seen out with rapper Future last week.
