Love is … still hyping your ex’s new project.
Cole Sprouse has spoken about his breakup from Lili Reinhart for the first time, confirming on Instagram the two split in March and calling the relationship “an incredible experience.”
Sprouse, 28, posted the note Wednesday, just a day after Refinery29 published an interview with Reinhardt, 23.
“Lili and I initially separated in January of this year, deciding to more permanently split in March,” Sprouse wrote alongside a picture of Reinhardt in a wooded glen of indeterminate location. “What an incredible experience I had, I’ll always feel lucky and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love. I wish her nothing but the utmost love and happiness moving forward. All I’ll say about it, anything else you hear doesn’t matter.”
“Also her movie comes out soon! I’m sure she’s just as incredible in it as everything else she does,” he finished. (Reinhart’s newest, “Chemical Hearts,” is Amazon’s newest original, out on Prime Friday.)
Reinhart’s Refinery29 interview seemingly referenced the breakup, with the “Riverdale” star describing the past few months as “probably the most emotional” of her entire life, adding that her therapist told her she was going through a “withdrawal from love.”
However, in response to the flood of speculation that greeted the interview, Reinhart tweeted, “Quotes taken from my most recent interview are not about a ‘breakup.’ They are about the depression I’ve felt over these last few months. Tired of people taking my words out of context and piecing together their own story for clickbait.”
Page Six exclusively confirmed in May that Reinhart and Sprouse had broken up after almost three years. We were told the “Riverdale” stars were quarantining separately after their split.
