Comic Dane Cook has put together a charity all-star table reading of the ’80s classic “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” starring Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Morgan Freeman, Shia LaBeouf, Matthew McConaughey, Sean Penn and Henry Golding.

It’s so far unclear what roles they’ll all play, but Penn, now 59, said he will not be reprising his iconic part as surfer dude Jeff Spicoli. He only hinted as to why, saying, “I’m very confident in the new guy.” Who’s playing what role will be revealed at the online event on Aug. 20.

Either way, we are going to guess that LaBeouf or McConaughey takes on the role of Spicoli, and that Freeman will play his teacher nemesis Mr. Hand, originally played by Ray Walston. Further casting for the table read is still to be announced.

Original “Fast Times” director Amy Heckerling and screenwriter Cameron Crowe will make a special introduction at the event. Crowe said as part of a statement on the charity reading and Penn’s participation, “It is, as a great man once said, ‘totally awesome.’”

The fundraiser, called “Dane Cook Presents Feelin’ A-Live,” will benefit Penn’s nonprofit CORE, as well as REFORM Alliance — which was launched last year by a group including Jay-Z, Meek Mill, Robert Kraft and Michael Rubin.

The original 1982 film starred Penn, Phoebe Cates, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold and Forest Whitaker.

The event will be available to view via Facebook Live and TikTok through CORE’s Facebook page, and will also stream on Live X Live.
