Lili Reinhart takes ‘solo trip’ for ‘mental clarity’ on Cole Sprouse’s birthday

While Cole Sprouse celebrated his birthday on Tuesday, Lili Reinhart spent the day as a party of one.

Following reports of their breakup earlier this year, Reinhart posted about taking a trip to “reconnect with [herself] and God” on Tuesday, the same day as Sprouse’s birthday.

“Took a solo trip to Mount Shasta for some mental clarity and healing,” the 23-year-old “Riverdale” star wrote on Instagram. “Hope all of you are using this time to take care of yourselves and reflect – it’s vital.”

Her self-reflection near the California mountain coincided with Sprouse’s 28^th birthday and an outpouring of celebratory wishes from celebrities.

In addition to former Disney stars Ashley Tisdale and Brenda Song, fellow “Riverdale” cast mates KJ Apa and Camila Mendes both acknowledged Sprouse’s birthday on social media. Mendes even appeared to be holding a piece of Sprouse’s birthday cake in her post on Tuesday.

Sprouse shared the birthday cake with his twin brother Dylan Sprouse. “Happy birthday to the Tommy to my Timmy…or the Timmy to my Tommy. All that is important is we say the same thing with a slight delay,” Dylan wrote alongside a photo of the cake, which featured the brother’s faces superimposed on cartoon characters.

In stark contrast to the love poem she wrote him last year, Reinhart did not publicly acknowledge Sprouse’s birthday this time around.

While Sprouse and Reinhart faced breakup rumors many times over the course of their almost three-year relationship, a source confirmed to Page Six in May that the couple had split and proceeded to quarantine individually during the coronavirus pandemic.

The news came soon after Sprouse publicly denied rumors that he cheated on Reinhart with model Kaia Gerber. In June, Reinhart came out as bisexual in an Instagram story.

Reinhart has been open with fans about her introspection during quarantine. “Although this quarantine is isolating and extremely challenging for those of us who struggle with mental health, I have learned a lot about myself during this time,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post from April.
